Tony and Lisa Clark joined Dave and Lynn in August 2016 on a trip to Rwanda. Part of their too short trip took them to a village near Nyambagabe (3 hours outside Kigali). They were privileged to give 100 health cards to families in need. They came back to Canada with hearts full of a need to help.
For just 3,000 Rwanda Francs (approximately $5 CAD), a person in Rwanda receives 90% health coverage for an entire year! This includes doctor visits, prescriptions and any other medical treatment including surgery.
"Dukundane" (Doo Koon Duh Nay) is a Kinyarwanda word that means "Love One Another". We call this section of Bridges Beyond the Dukundane Initiative, and it exists to provide free health cards to those living in poverty throughout Rwanda. Bridges Beyond is proud to partner with others in Canada and in Rwanda to oversee the fund-raising and distribution of these cards yearly across the nation of Rwanda.
